LRI (Learning Reinforcement Initiative, formally known as Homework Policy):
- LRI is expected to be neat, complete, correct, and on time. Use only pencil or blue/black ink. Any other color will be unaccepted.
Late Work or Missing Work/Labs:
- LRI that is missing, incomplete, or shows a hurried-up-get-it-done lack of effort without regard to correctness is considered late. Late work will be given partial credit. After being collected/1st day – 90% maximum, 2nd day – 80% maximum, 3rd day – 70% maximum, 4th day – 60% maximum, 5th day – 50% maximum. No work will be accepted after 5 school days unless it is due to an excused absence. This applies to projects as well.
- If you are absent on the day the assignment is due, you will receive one school calendar day per absence (which is the day of absence) plus one school day to complete and turn in. For example, if a child is absent on a Monday, the assignment would be due Wednesday. If a child is absent on a Friday, the assignment is due Tuesday of the following week. It is up the responsibility of the child and parent to request work.
- If you are absent on a lab day, you may or may not be able to make-up the lab. It will depend on the type of lab that was done. If you cannot make-up a lab, you will be given a Lab Make-Up Sheet, which will teach you the same concepts and will be worth the same amount of participation points. Students are required to complete necessary notebook pages.
