Welcome!!!

Welcome to 6th Grade Science at TJMS - Where all students are college-bound!

Parents/Guardians: Throughout this year, I will be expecting your children to rise up as mature, respectful 6th graders, all the while, demonstrating inquiry and using the scientific tools to make sense of the world around them. It is my pleasure to teach your child the foundations necessary to succeed in Middle School Science.

In the 1st & 2nd quarters, we will be focusing on:
  • lab safety
  • measurement via the metric system: length, mass, volume, temperature, & time
  • variables & the scientific method
  • chemistry: matter

In the 3rd & 4th quarters, we will be focusing on:
  • chemistry: mixtures, atoms&molecules, the periodic table
  • landforms: the earth's waters, erosion
  • environments: animals, habitats, plants

I am readily available to discuss any questions/comments you or your child may have. Please keep in touch with me via e-mail at klin@wps60.org or call TJMS at (847)360-5573.

I look forward to our communication & partnership. In our efforts, I anticipate giving your child the best education he/she can receive!

Best regards, Ms. Lin
